On August 15, ProgesT 2001 held a potato variety demonstration day, as part of the national project to evaluate varieties for sustainability and climate change, in partnership with the Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada (FVGC). Over 50 varieties were presented, as well as 40 new lines from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s (AAFC) breeding program.
Some thirty people visited the fields and discovered a showroom featuring washed tubers of all the varieties on display. The results of previous years’ research were also presented.
